Christmas Tour Of Homes

Today I am linking up to the Christmas Tour of Homes.

I definitely know that I do not have the Southern Living Home of the Year by any means. I love to decorate for Christmas, but I have cut back on alot since I am so busy teaching. It is hard to work all day and have time to bring out everything I have accumulated over the years. I have tons of Snow Village houses and Santas, etc. that my students and my family have given me! But I think for now my decorating has been really scaled down. One day, I hope I will have more time to go all out and really decorate to the hilt! :)

First of all, I have a very kid-friendly Christmas tree. It doesn't have white lights or fancy ornaments. It is just very simple. My favorite ornaments are the sentimental ones that my kids made when they were little and the ones I have gotten from my students. I can't even put them all out. I especially love the ones with my kids' pictures through the years. That is my favorite thing on the whole tree! Here are a few of those ornaments...

I do have a couple of fancy ornaments like this Christopher Radko church that I just love and some Snow Babies...

This is what it looks like when you walk into the entryway of my house and look to the right...

Then straight ahead is my den/family room. That is where we have our Christmas tree...

These are our stockings that are hanging on the fireplace...

And here are two of my Santas that sit on the mantle...

We have a big family, so I have lots of Christmas dishes! This is one set, still in my china cabinet...

And I also have these...

And I have several Nativity scenes which I love. This is the oldest one I have. I have had it since right after we got married I think! I would love to get a really big nice one some day!

My students are always so generous to me. This Christmas cookie jar is an example of just one of the many gifts I have been given since I started teaching. It sits on my kitchen counter.

So...I think that's about it. I can't wait to visit everyone else's homes!

I have been wondering where you were BUT I read all of your posts and I know now. I think I am going to give you the nickname "BB" for Busy Betsy.

All of your posts brought smiles to my face and gave me some really great ideas.

Love all of the decor...especially the family ornaments.

Betsy,

Your decor is beautiful and so is your home! I also LOVE the smell of cinnamon and cloves simmering on the stove, I sometimes add some fresh slices of orange or lemons and limes too! YUM!

Your home is so beautiful and inviting. The one picture of your living room just made me want to go in and sit down on the sofa. You do have a real sense of style when it comes to decorating for Christmas. I enjoyed seeing that stack of Christmas dishes and thinking about all the special memories included with those dishes, from Christmases past. It was an enjoyable visit. Your daughter and son-in-law are a good looking couple.
