Ashley's Graduation

Today was Ashley's graduation from the University of South Carolina. I can't believe she is graduating...it seems like we were just moving her in her freshman year!

It was such a nice day! The weather was beautiful and both sets of grandparents were there along with Ashley's boyfriend, John. Her roommate Robyn was there too and Robyn's parents were sweet enough to attend the graduation before they left to drive back to Tennessee.

When we got to Columbia, we helped Ashley pack up her room since she is moving back home tomorrow. Then we took her to lunch at one of her favorite college hangouts, Groucho's. Then we headed over to the graduation.

It was a very nice ceremony. Ashley graduated Summa Cum Laude and we are so proud of her!

Here are a few pictures from the day...

After graduation, we took the grandparents to the "horseshoe" to take pictures, then out to dinner at a little restaurant near campus called Yesterdays. It has lots of what I call "down-home" food like country fried steak and grits! But they were serving champaigne to all the graduates and parents, which I thought was very sweet!

Ashley's roommates Kari and Michele joined us there. Here is Ashley with Kari and Michele. Kari is getting married in two weeks. I know they are all going to miss living together!

So now, Ashley is closing that chapter of her life and starting a new one. I know God has big things in store for her. We are so proud of you Ashley!:)
