Almost Done

Well, Lindy's room is just about done! Steve is putting her furniture together as we speak and tomorrow I will do a few last minute things before she gets home.

I pretty much painted all day today and I am so tired! We had dinner tonight with Steve's whole family at La Unica. Now I am about to get in my pajamas and do some reading and TV watching!! Our new book for my book club is The Kite Runner.

And when we were in Washington last week, we turned on the tv in the hotel Thursday night when we got back from our day and a show called Hopkins was on.

This is the summary of the show from abc:

Nearly eight years after the critically acclaimed series, Hopkins 24/7, ABC News returns to Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Hospital for a new six-part documentary entitled Hopkins, which delves even deeper into the world of caregivers at this hospital. Hopkins offers a rare look at the impact this high pressure profession can have on doctors' personal lives. For four months ABC News' high definition cameras had unparalleled access to this legendary hospital and to more than a hundred caregivers and patients who gave their consent to be filmed. Hopkins captures astounding scenes of medical crisis, with young doctors forced to make life and death decisions on the fly. The result is a stunningly intimate portrait of the men and women who call this hospital home.

I really liked it, so I'm looking forward to seeing it again tonight! Hope you have a great night!

I have the Kite Runner, but I haven't read it yet - I have heard it is really good! I am actully going to the beach with my mom's book group next week! Fun!

And, last, but not least, I have been watching Hopkins - very interesting and sort of fills the Gray's Anatomy and ER gap for me during the summer! Haha!

  7. Not sure why my last comment didn't post so I will try again.

I wanted to say that I just got through reading, well uh listening to the Kite Runner. I really liked it and found it a powerful story. It had a great deal of Farsi in it, so I'm not sure I would have understood it as well reading it. Listening to the author's read version helped me I think. If you are interested they have the audio version at the library. I need to rent the movie now and see how far away it was from the book. He wrote another book A thousand splendid suns (I think) that others have said is good as well, but haven't tried it yet.

    I'm enjoying your blog!
